There are quite a few caravan parking areas along the coastal cliff tops. This is the largest single limestone slab in the world covering 200,000 Sq/klm which forms the Nuallabor National Park. This cliff top drive extends for approx. 200klm, less than a kilometre from the ocean. These are the famous Bunda Cliffs rising 100 mtrs above the sea with stunning views, we pull over after a short drive today so we can relax and enjoy all this region has to offer.

During these covid times you have to obtain a permit to enter Western Australia, we have already completed this on-line, and received the permit within 15 mins.

After enjoying the warm sun and a ride along the top we prepare for another fire. Declan has his own supply as very little wood out here. By days end about six other vans have chosen this site as well, plenty of room. I think you will agree the views are breathtaking.

Great spot to park for the night

A lovely young couple park along side us for the night so we invite them to join us. Tom & Tahlia from Melbourne decided to defer University and hit the road. This is their third adventure and this leg will take them around Australia and see them home for Christmas.

Uncle Fester has a resting place /A lazy after noon break with views

They have an Iveco van which they have fitted out themselves thanks to Bunnings, Ikea etc. What a great job they have done.

As the discussions unfold during the evening it seems we have some close links to both of them. Tom attended Xavier College, and friends of ours Brian and Margaret Aldcroft, their son Michael teaches at Xavier and also taught Tom. Tahlia, attended Sacre Coeur, and Sarah worked with Orla Wallace who also teaches at the college, and her daughter Mary Wallace was in the year below Tahlia. Small world, wonderful young couple enjoying this part of their life.

Tom & Sarah /Declan & Trish

Tahlia & Tom had some indoor plants for the van, but sadly unbeknown to them these will not be allowed into WA. Plants, seeds, fruit & any vegetables that still have soil residue around them will be removed. Strict quarantine rules here.

As the road runs close to the cliffs for 100 klm, in the night sky with their lights they are visible for a longtime. On first sighting I commented that there must be a trawler out at sea, as they appeared over what I thought was the ocean, but not so, 25 mins later the truck roared past, amazing.
