Heading 130klm south to Cape Hillsborough Park, right on the coast. A winding road in off the main Bruce Highway, to the coast, in a forest surrounding.
Camped right by the beach. Relaxing outside the van, and a local goanna, strolled past.
Popular spot for beach fishing, coastal caves, or just a walk on the beach.
First light, kangaroos come down to the beach for seaweed and mangrove seeds, washed up with the overnight tides.

Next overnight stop at Marlborough, 275klm further south from Cape Hillsborough. More rain on the trip south.

Miriam Vale
Rain is steady, as we make our way 275klm further south. We had intended to stay at Agnes Waters, on the coast, but due to the rain stayed put in Miriam Vale. Free camping in the local car park opposite The Shop. Another enjoyable night with locals.

We stayed at the Fraser Coast caravan park. A lovely natural bush park. Rain was steady, with cool winds for this part of the world. We decided to cancel the planned trip to K’gari Island due to the conditions.
We spent the next few days relaxing in Hervey Bay, along the foreshore, which is beautiful, with sub tropical parkland, activities for all ages, safe walking and riding pathways.
Noticeable number of retirees settle here, due to the favourable climate, life style etc. Whale watching, fishing and boating are all popular activities.
